SCSI is an acronym for Small Computer Interface. It originated in 1980 and became an ANSI standard in 1986 as SCSI-1, It is intended to connect a computer to a chain of dissimilar devices such as disk drives, printers, CD-ROM's, etc.

The standard has since been enhanced and was re-released as SCSI-2 in 1993. In 1995, the ANSI SCSI working committee released a further enhanced version called SPI which stands for SCSI parallel interface.

Today's high speed data transmissions and mission critical data integrity associated with SCSI applications should not be compromised by inferior cabling. Most SCSI failures are caused by inadequate cable performance. SCSI cables are among the most sensitive to quality in PC related cable applications.
